Ellis and her friends
It’s been so sweet to see Ellis develop relationships with her friends. I know this is just the beginning, but their little conversations amaze me and their laughter is infectious. It’s also nice that there isn’t much drama beyond sharing a toy for preschooler friendships.

Mike’s visit
My two favorite things about Mike’s new job are seeing him so happy and challenged in his career and the fact that his work takes him to the NYC area a few times a year. We had a wonderful weekend together over Father’s Day. Mike rented a bike and we all road down to Pier 6 in Brooklyn. We ate at some great neighborhood restaurants, enjoyed a stunning sunset by the water along with a picnic in the park, and played endlessly with Ellis.

Sara’s Surprise Shower
My dear friend Sara’s wedding is just a few weeks away! Her sister Rachel did an amazing job planning her surprise bridal shower a few weekends ago. I had a great time helping with the set up and waiting with nervous anticipation for Sara’s arrival. She was truly surprised and the shower was so much fun. Can’t wait for the big day in August!

Louisville weekend
This was already two weeks ago, but life keeps getting in the way of posting! We had a really wonderful time visiting my Mom and friends and seeing some of the new places for the under five set. The Waterfront Park, Squallis Puppeteers and the revitalized downtown area were definite highlights. Oh, and we saw a real Louisville cardinal right in front of our windshield!

Jersey City playdate
We made our way over to NJ on Saturday so Erik could watch the Champions League final with Goran. Ellis was pretty excited to see Rubi too. Walking up to her building, she said “Rubi’s house... I love it” We had a wonderful time playing, swimming, BBQing, and celebrating the start of summer. Is there anything sweeter than seeing two little friends walking hand in hand?

Mother's Day Weekend
We had a fun and relaxing Mother's Day weekend complete with a trip to Central Park, the Zoo, MoMa, ice cream at Rockefeller Center, dinner out Friday night at one of our favorites places and many swings in our new hammock. Ellis called Rockefeller Center her castle and couldn’t believe how tall it was. She was even on her best behavior today (despite not taking a nap) and kept us smiling for hours.
